Q: How did AMTSO come to be established?

A:  The vision for AMTSO was formed in May 2007 during the International Antivirus Testing Workshop in Reykjavik, Iceland, through the efforts of a group of vendors.  This group was soon expanded to include other industry experts who also saw a need for improvement in anti-malware testing.  Additional discussions regarding AMTSO were held during the Association of anti Virus Asia Researchers (AVAR) Conference in Seoul, South Korea in December 2007, and AMTSO was officially formed in January 2008 at a meeting of more than 40 industry experts in Bilbao, Spain.
