28 June 2011 – The Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization (AMTSO), an international organization that promotes improved methodologies for testing security products, announced today the election of two new members to the Board of Directors.
John Hawes, Technical Consultant and Test Team Director at Virus Bulletin, and Dmitry Gryaznov, Senior Research Architect with McAfee Labs, join AMTSO’s Board with effect from 30th June, and will be heavily involved with the organization of the next AMTSO Workshop, to be held in Bratislava on October 18th-19th, 2011.
"We welcome John and Dimitry to the board and look forward to their contribution,” says Righard Zwienenberg, President of AMTSO and Chief Research Officer at Norman Data Defense Systems. "I would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Board members Andreas Marx and Igor Muttik, both of whom have chosen to step down from the Board, for their invaluable help and support over the past few years.”
AMTSO’s board consists of nine Directors, and elections take place on a yearly basis, but re-election is phased to ensure administrative continuity when new Board members are elected. Both Righard Zwienenberg, and Karel Obluk, Chief Scientist at AVG Technologies, successfully stood for re-election on this occasion.
