We have another guideline paper available for public review and feedback. Our new “Testing Application Promises” guidance aims to help testers analyze and rate how well software and service providers keep to their own promises to users, both explicit and implied, and covering the processes and technologies in place to ensure user expectations are respected.
This is something of a departure for AMTSO as it covers a broad horizontal across many types of software and service, supporting fair and unbiased measurement of how providers protect their users and customers from potential harms. We expect to see initial testing in this area in the very near future, and hope for wider uptake to ensure online risks are minimized.
The draft paper will be open for review until Tuesday, September 1st. Comments, criticism, and suggestions are welcome – please send all feedback to info@amtso.org. On completion of the review period, all feedback will be reviewed by the working group and actioned as necessary; depending on the complexity of any further adjustments required, the paper will either return for a further round of review or proceed to the final stages of member approval for official adoption as an AMTSO paper.
