Welcome to our regular roundup of events and activities in and around AMTSO.
Working Groups
The review period for our latest guideline releases remains open until July 20th – this covers both the new paper on testing Agentic AI Security and a significant update to our Sandbox Evaluation Framework, also focused on AI handling. Members and non-members alike are requested to provide any feedback or comments ahead of the deadline.
Coming up we expect to go live soon with our new Multi-Engine Quality Certification scheme, the relevant working group held a call this week to iron out a few more details and work on the technical implementation is being finalized. We have also been reviewing a proposed guideline on evaluating how well application developers stick to their own promises and user expectations, which we hope to have under wider review very soon.
We held a call for our AI group this week, checking in on feedback from the paper review period and looking at the various implementations already available as well as initial testing trials being carried out by members. The sandbox team met last week and also looked at ongoing testing leveraging our framework. Our RTTL threat-intel project continues to build out planned expansions, while maintaining the quality of the existing system, with their regular update call held last week.
Meetings and Events
Work continues on our October Cyber Research Conference in Brussels, with a first look at the agenda expected to go live next week. Many of the member and guest presentations have already been announced, full details of the event can be found on the event page. Members can register to attend via the member site and non-member tickets will be available very soon.
We also have another Testing Town Hall event coming up, which has been postponed to later in July to avoid scheduling clashes – the agenda and timing are being finalized and we expect to issue details next week. Board and Management
As we move into our new member year starting July 1st, we have formally instated our new Board of Directors, with Dennis Batchelder joining the lineup alongside several sitting directors re-elected for fresh terms. Much behind-the-scenes work has been focused on the changeover to the new year, with some changes to our membership lineup and our annual budgeting/renewal period keeping the team busy. The first official call for the new Board will be held next week.
AMTSO Standard and Test Calendar
A quiet few weeks for our Test Calendar with only the latest Android report from AV-Test added since our last newsletter, we expect to see a surge in releases over the next few weeks as test labs get their reports out ahead of summer breaks. - Virus Bulletin Q2’2026 VBSpam Test Report (AMTSO Test ID: AMTSO-LS1-TP196) on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026.
- A Public Test Notification was issued by TGL (Testing Ground Labs) for their upcoming June 2026 Consumer Android Malware Detection Test (AMTSO Test ID: AMTSO-LS1-TP205) on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026.
- A Public Test Notification was issued by MRG-Effitas for their July 2026 360 Degree Consumer Assessment and Certification (AMTSO Test ID: AMTSO-LS1-TP206) on Monday, June 29th, 2026.
- Phase 2 Commentary Collections covering AV-TEST’s May 2026 Test Report on Android Antivirus Applications (AMTSO Test ID: AMTSO-LS1-TP184) opened on Monday, June 29th, 2026.

Membership
As we move into our new member year for 2026-27 we thank those members who have completed the renewal process and confirmed their commitment to our community for another year.
