*Updated* The second AMTSO member meeting of 2023 was held in London, UK, on October 2nd and 3rd. We returned to the Novotel London West, where we last held a meeting back in 2019. AMTSO members from all around the world gathered to catch up on what’s been happening at AMTSO, push forward with our various projects such as our XDR testing criteria and ThreatList system, find out the latest ideas and plans from our tester members, and network with peers from across the security industry.
Day 1 focused on AMTSO matters with our usual team and project updates, including a first look at the new ThreatList system, and a panel on software monetization. For the second day of the event, October 3rd, we opened up our meeting to a wider group of guest attendees. The day featured an opening keynote from Raza Syed, VP of Infrastructure for Privacy Security and Trust Engineering at Microsoft, plus presentations from AMTSO members and guests including legal expert Terry Budd discussing generative AI, SecureIQLab reporting on their latest forays into XDR testing (followed by a look at AMTSO’s own efforts to build out criteria for XDR testing), a talk on the lessons to be gleaned from the history of the EICAR test file from noted expert Paul Ducklin, and a study of fileless threats from NioGuard Security Lab’s Alexander Adamov.
The rest of the week AMTSO was represented at the Virus Bulletin VB2023 conference, being held in the same venue, where we met up with many current and former members, made new connections and shared ideas with a wide range of attendees.
Anyone with an interest in cybersecurity testing is welcome to join AMTSO and attend our meetings – for more information and the application form, see our joining page.
We also welcome guest speakers and attendees at our more public Testing Town Hall events – you can sign up to attend using the form below, or drop us a line if you have something you’d like to present.
