Welcome to our regular roundup of events and activities in and around AMTSO.
Meetings and Events
Just a few weeks to go until our Cyber Research Conference in Brussels, taking place on October 20-21, we look forward to seeing many of our members there as well as our guest attendees! We’re still finalizing the agenda with some panel discussion sessions being planned, and we hope to announce details of these next week. Still time to book your place, registration and details of the event can be found on the event page, members please sign up via the AMTSO member site.
We’re also getting ready to attend the Virus Bulletin conference in Seville the week ahead of our own event, those who can’t join us in Brussels are welcome to stop by our booth or catch up with our team on the conference floor.
Guidelines and Working Groups
Last week we officially adopted our latest guideline paper, “Testing Application Promises“, now added to our official document library, and we already have a test under way under the guidance provided in the paper – AppEsteem’s residential proxy operator test is scheduled for publication in late November, but we will have a preview of the outcomes, as well as an overview of the testing process, from AppEsteem’s Dennis Batchelder at our Brussels event.
Our working groups have continued to map out plans for Brussels, sharing updates on achievements so far (including publication of guideline papers from our AI Security, Spam & Phishing, and Sandbox Evaluation groups already this year), as well as future plans for our projects. Our RTTL threat-intel sharing team will also be providing updates on progress towards a major new version under development, alongside a look at the current status of the project, which continues to expand with new contributors onboarded in recent weeks.

The latest updates to our Test Calendar include AV-Test’s latest reports in its flagship Windows 11 test series (covering both consumer and business products), Android data from Testing Ground Labs, and the latest VB100 certifications from Virus Bulletin. Board and Management
We held a call on September 22nd with our Board of Directors, looking mainly at our plans for Brussels, which include a full day of team discussion and planning sessions. We have also been in discussions with new marketing advisors giving us some guidance on spreading the word about our activities and outputs, where we hope to make some serious improvements in the coming months. The next official meeting of the Board will be in person in Brussels on October 19th.

We look forward to catching up in person with many of our existing members this month, as well as connecting with potential additions to our community. Anyone interested in becoming an AMTSO member can find more information on our joining page.
